Terms of use

These terms cover the DC Labs website and any DC Labs workspace. If your company has a signed agreement with DC Labs, that agreement governs wherever the two differ.

What DC Labs is

DC Labs provides operating software for construction businesses. A workspace connects to systems your company already uses, keeps a copy of the records they hold, and helps the people at your company see, reconcile, and act on them. It is a mirror of your company’s systems and a place to originate entries; your accounting system stays the system of record.

Your account

People use a workspace by invitation from their company. Keep your sign-in private, use the workspace only for your company’s business, and tell us at once if you think your access has been used by someone else. Your company’s administrators decide who has access and what they can see.

Your records

Everything a workspace reads from your company’s systems, and everything your people upload, belongs to your company. DC Labs holds it only to provide the service, as the privacy policy describes, and returns or deletes it on request.

Connected systems

Connecting a third-party system — QuickBooks Online, CompanyCam, or others — is done under that provider’s own terms as well as these. Only a person your company has authorized to administer that system should connect it. DC Labs is an independent developer and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Intuit or any other provider. QuickBooks is a registered trademark of Intuit Inc.

What the software will not do

A DC Labs workspace never records a bill as paid in your accounting system, never initiates a payment, and never moves money. Every entry it prepares for a connected system is written only after a person at your company has reviewed and released it.

Acceptable use

Do not use a workspace to break the law, to reach records that are not your company’s, to probe or overload the service, or to reverse-engineer it. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to.

Availability and changes

The software is in active development. We may change or withdraw features, and the service may be unavailable at times. We aim to give notice of changes that affect how you work.

Warranties and liability

The service is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Your company remains responsible for its own books, filings, and payments, and for reviewing anything the software prepares before releasing it. To the fullest extent the law allows, DC Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for lost profits or data, arising from use of the service, and DC Labs’ total liability under these terms is limited to the amount your company paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim.

Ending things

You can stop using the service at any time; your company’s administrator can close the workspace by writing to us. We can suspend or end access if these terms are broken. When a workspace closes, the privacy policy says what happens to the records.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Montana, and any dispute is brought in the courts there.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the revision in the title block below changes with it. Substantive changes are sent to workspace administrators before they take effect.
